Guber Poll: Wike Loses Hope, Seeks Soft Landing
With defeat staring him in the face, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the April 11 governorship polls in Rivers State, Chief Nyesome Wike, has made overtures to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), seeking to negotiate his future after the expected victory of the APC candidate, Dr. Dakuku Peterside. Rivers APC Chairman, Dr. Davies Ibiamu Ikanya, revealed in Port Harcourt on Thursday that Chief Wike had reached out to him through his running mate, Dr. (Mrs.) Ipalibo Banigo, making the following requestsRead More
A Vote For Jimi Agbaje, A Vote For Asari-Dokubo, OPC
Mr Jimi Agbaje, the Lagos PDP gubernatorial candidate for April 11th general election may have literarily lost his political deposit for the post with his unguided and repulsive utterances in far away London some time ago. Seen early as a buffer to counteract the less expansive AD, ACN and now APC governance since 1999 in the nation's commercial hub, Mr Agbaje crashed his burning ambition on the utter of political militancy. Mr. Agbaje virtual call to the Niger Delta militias or any other to arm in the event of Gen. Muhammadu Buhari's win in a foreign land is trajectory, if not anarchical to truncate the current spirit that has liberated and permeated the political space. I have suggested in the past that space ship could be purchased for the like of Mr Agbaje to relocate to some other planets, where porpoise of sub-humanity dominates.

I foresee a President Buhari who would, after his swearing in on May 29 2015, announce to a gregarious Nigerian people that he will lead Nigeria on one quarter of his salary for his first 4 years in office as his sacrifice for the ailing economy and Prof. Osinbajo will follow in the same vein. That will be the first salvo that will dictate the rest of their leadership as a change fulcrum. Buhari we know can do that for his country to be great and Prof. Osinbajo is no different. These are two highly mentally matured individuals whose nationalism gush is not in doubt. Thirty days after being sworn in, I foresee a President Buhari who will enunciate a presidential bill seeking the alteration of the take-home packs of the national assembly men and women to be adjusted in the manner that they will be at par with the senior lecturers of our universities. The ball will then be in the public court to force the oversized national assembly to grow down. It is evidence that the Nigerian populace is now very reactive to what is happening around them and that is one thing I so much admire about Nigerians. Anytime they wake you will knowRead More

Cultism Allegation: An attempt to destroy my hard-earned reputation - Peterside
By Adelani Omoniyi

Dr. Dakuku Peterside, governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Rivers State has described the allegation of cultism against him by the Rivers State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, as unkind and uncharitable. For him, this is taking politics of mudslinging too far. This latest evil and immoral accusation, he believes, is an attempt to destroy his hard-earned reputation. The APC candidate who stated this in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital called on politicians to focus on issues that would improve the living standards of their people rather than resorting to criminal and baseless accusation and cheap blackmail that are capable of exacerbating the already tensed political atmosphere in the state. Rivers APC Hails Peterside for Respecting the Nigerian Armed Forces Day  By Nkemjika Clpress
The leadership of All Progressives Congress [APC], Rivers State chapter says it is proud to note that, as a mark of profound respect to the living and fallen heroes of the Nigerian armed forces, its Rivers State governorship candidate, Dr. Dakuku Adol Peterside, deliberately suspended his campaign yesterday, January 15, being the Nigerian Armed Forces Day. Jonathan’s Boast to Recover Rivers State for PDP in 2015 Laughable —APC
The All Progressives Congress (APC), Rivers State Chapter, has dismissed as ridiculous, the boast by President Goodluck Jonathan that his Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will recover the State from the hands of APC during the 2015 general elections. “This boast made on Saturday by President Jonathan during PDP’s South-South Rally in Benin City, the Edo State capital, is ridiculous because it runs counter to the realities on ground in Rivers State,” the State APC leadership said. Goodluck Jonathan And his Government that talks too much
Nigeria has been in the spotlight every now and then recently, either going through serious scrutiny from foreign media houses or under severe attack by dissatisfied citizens. Never has Nigeria found herself in such a precarious position since the 1967-1970 civil war. Today, Nigerians live in fear as a result of the growing security challenges. As much as many of us will try to keep hopes alive, we sometimes wonder if the Nigerian ship is sailing towards a Bermuda Triangle.

X-raying the motives of overnight artiste-politicians by Theophilus Ilevbare
Just when we were coming to terms with the precipitous foray to the political scene of some entertainers like Gongo Aso crooner, Abolore Akande popularly known as 9ice, gospel singer, Kenny Saint Best and actor, Desmond Elliot, all of whom have in recent time declared their political ambition and aligned themselves with political parties, Tony Tetuila (reals names, Anthony Olarenwaju) has quickly joined the burgeoning list of Nigerian artistes vying for elective positions in next year’s general election. Even if the joke sounds too expensive and only himself believes it, popular stand-up comedian, Julius Agwu, thinks he can become the next governor of Rivers state. .

2015: Peterside’s Election a Divine Mandate, Says Rivers APC
By Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze

Scientists have told us that people of all ages experience inconvenient and, sometime, embarrassing memory lapses. That is the reason I may have to cut Chief Duro Onabule some slack in this rejoinder to his column on The Sun of November 21, 2014. Instead, I would do posterity well by detailing the facts that our chief has decided to upend the truth either in order to gratify some personal craving for contemporary relevance or in a flagrant attempt to score a cheap political point by misinforming the reading public..
